Reference
While the Streak wiki pages at XDA linked to beloware very good resources and TheManii does a good job of maintaining them you will want to check other sources. TheManii has a habit of removing edits by others that add helpful info, so in my opinion that info is incomplete.
- Streak Wiki at xda-developers.com – includes DL links for ROMS and a ROM reference, lots of good info. Start here!
- Radimus’s Universal Guide to Flashing a ROM – MUST READ if you want to flash a ROM or upgrade
- Everything you wanted to know about the streak, but were too busy bricking it – Sticky thread by TheManii with links important to Streak users. Most are already listed here. The links listed are very XDA-centric.
- Beginner’s Guide to Streakdroid – put together by Kohawk09. This was last updated for version 1.8x, but is still a useful and informative read.
- Flashing Guide by TheManii at XDA Streak Wiki
- [Guide]List of apps safe to remove – by TheManii at XDA
- Dell Streak – The Complete Guide – thread at XDA that includes a somewhat dated PDF with Streak hacking basics. Read the thread for follow-up! Written prior to Android 2.2 for the Streak.

Rooting
Recommended Method
- Superuser.zip method – uses fastboot to push the files needed for root to your phone. Works on all stock ROM versions.
Outdated Methods
These could be considered simpler, but they may not work on all Streak Roms.
- Gingerbreak method – probably the simplest. Involves installation of an APK (app) on your phone and running it. Will not work on latest stock ROMs.
- SuperOneClick – Runs a program on your PC to root the phone. May not work on newer ROMS
